Aksu (also known as Ak-su, Akshu, Aqsu, Bharuka and Po-lu-chia. Uyghur: ئاقسۇ/; simplified Chinese 阿克è‹, traditional Chinese: 阿克蘇, pinyin: Ä€kèsù) is a city in the Chinese province of Xinjiang and the capital of Aksu Prefecture. The name Aksu literally means "White Water", and is used for both the town and the river.
