The AMD K8L microarchitecture is the immediate successor to the AMD K8 series of processors (i.e. Athlon 64, Opteron, Sempron 64, and sharing technologies with the Socket S1 Turion 64s), and has not been officially announced. However, its existence is confirmed by Henri Richard, AMD executive vice president and chief officer for marketing and sales in an interview dated 14 March 2006 by Digi Times.
