Gerone (Catalan:Girona; Spanish: Gerona) is a province of eastern Spain, in the northern part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is bordered by the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida, and by France and the Mediterranean Sea.

Girona was a galleass of the 1588 Spanish Armada which foundered and sank off Lacada Point, County Antrim, Ireland, after making its way eastward along the Irish coast.
