Harpacticoida is an order of the subclass Copepoda, in the Crustacea subphylum. This orders comprises 463 genera and about 3000 species. Members of it are benthic copepods found throughout the world in the marine environment (most families) and in freshwater (essentially the Ameiridae, Parastenocarididae and the Canthocamptidae).
