Another trickster character, a spider, famous throughout the Plains Indians (such as the Sioux), also known as Ikto, Inktomi, and Unktome. Sometimes friendly with the other trickster characters like Rabbit and Coyote, other times trying to take advantage of them, he is in the same sorts of amorous and trickster stories as Coyote. Interestingly, a spider trickster character is common throughout Africa as well.
