Iyar (Hebrew: ×ִייָר or ×ִיָּר, Standard Iyyar Tiberian ; from Akkadian , meaning "Rosette; blossom") is the eighth month of the ecclesiastical year and the second month of the civil year on the Hebrew calendar. The name is Babylonian in origin. In the Bible it is called Ziv.
