Lausanne (pronounced ) is a city in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, situated on the shores of Lake Geneva (French: Lac Léman), and facing Évian-les-Bains (France) and with the Jura mountains to its north. Lausanne is located some 50 km (31 mi) northeast of Geneva. It is the capital of the canton of Vaud and of the district of Lausanne.

Treaty of Peace treaty signed between the Allies and Turkey in July 1923, replacing the obsolete Treaty of Sèvres, which had been agreed in August 1920. It granted Turkey large areas of European territory including Constantinople and Gallipoli.
