Easily recognized rodents of the family Sciuridæ. Represented in the North Country by five species; two squirrels (Red, Tamiasciurus hudsonicus, and Northern Flying, Glaucomys sabrinus), two chipmunks (Least, Eutamius minimus, and Eastern, Tamias striatus), and the woodchuck ( Marmota monax).
