Styria (; ; ) is a state or Land, located in the southeast of Austria. In area, it is the second largest of the nine Austrian states, covering 16,388 km². It borders Slovenia as well as the other Austrian states of Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Burgenland, and Carinthia.

The Styria Medien AG was founded in 1869. It is the third largest media concern in Austria and has 2.400 employees in the concern generating a turnover of 392 million Euros (2004). Styria prints 5 daily and 14 weekly newspapers, 6 magazines, runs 4 online services, 5 radio and 3 TV programmes, 5 book publishers and also a large retail book company.
