Unbroken reading of the Guru Granth Sahib

a complete, non-stop reading of the Guru Granth Sahib from beginning to end. This is usually undertaken in celebration for festivals and important events such as weddings and Khalsa baptisms. The reading begins two days before the event and is timed to coincide with the climax of the the festival. It may be carried out by relays of devout Sikhs, or by professional readers. It normally takes about 48 hours of continuous reading.
