Bipolar CMOS. A type of semiconductor design that utilizes both bipolar and CMOS technologies. The logic gate is primarily made of CMOS, but its output stage uses bipolar transistors which can handle higher current.
(pronounced by-see-moss) This process combines CMOS transistors with bipolar transistors. It is used in mixed signal design to provide high performance op amps and in cases where high current or high voltage IO is required. It is more expensive than straight CMOS because extra masks are required.
