The endorsement may be "blank" which means with no indication of the new beneficiary. A bill with a blank endorsement is, to all practical effects, a title payable to the bearer, provided the latter owns it in good faith.

The signature of a person on the back of a negotiable instrument. Endorsement in blank makes the instrument bearer paper. See also "Bearer."
