To make a record of having borrowed (something) for temporary use; as, to check out a book at the library; to check out equipment from a depository.
The process of borrowing materials to use outside the Libraries. This is done at the Circulation Desk. Anyone may browse the collections, but a university ID card (NCARD) is needed to check out materials. Nebraska residents not affiliated with UNL can obtain library cards.
