A letter (or other symbols) that identify a color. The color code is associated with a design, so the same color can have a different code in different designs.
The ANSI established color code for thermocouple wires in the negative lead is always red. Color Code for base metal thermocouples is yellow for Type K, black for Type J, purple for Type E and blue for Type T.

A color code is a system for displaying information by using different colors. Color codes are often difficult or impossible for color blind and blind people to understand.
