For example, if an interest measure correlates with satisfaction with one's current job, this is criterion-related validity - more specifically, it is concurrent validity evidence for the interest measure. Alternatively, if an interest measure correlates with satisfaction with one's job five years later, this is a different form of criterion-related validity called predictive validity.
