Definitions for "Cross-post"
A cross-post is the act of sending the same message to two or more newsgroups at the same time by adding more newsgroups to the Newsgroups field of the news reader. A legitimate cross-post differs from a spam in that it is generally on-topic and is limited to just a few newsgroups. While cross-posting is sometimes unnecessary, it is less "resource-intensive" than sending the same message separately to separate newsgroups.
