A price representing what a willing and unpressured buyer would pay for property held by a similarly situated seller. This term is used interchangeably with fair market value.
The maximum price a buyer would spend on a property and the minimum price the seller would accept for their property at this present moment. This is not the value a house could potentially be sold at, it is the estimated price a property would be sold for at the present moment.
The worth of all positions in a client's brokerage account. To determine the portfolio's current market value, stocks and bonds are valued at their closing prices. The value of a security or portfolio based on today's market prices. For listed stocks and bonds, the market value is the closing price; for over-the counter securities, the closing bid price is used.
