Betting that the eventual result will be lower than the current quote. Also known as Going Low. With a quote of 16-19, the Sell price is 16.
A bet that the result will be lower than the quote offered by a spread betting firm. A bettor always Sells at the lower of the two prices offered in a spread quote. The only exception to this is in the Finishing Positions market (see Buy)
('Give', 'go short') means you make a down bet (or close an up bet).
As in "sell a hand." In a spread-limit game, this means betting less than the maximum when you have a very strong hand, hoping players will call whereas they would not have called a maximum bet.
