The Felidae family includes the Lion, the Tiger, the Domestic Cats, and other felines as its members. They are the most strictly carnivorous of the nine families in the order Carnivora. The first felids emerged during the Oligocene, about 30 million years ago.
Felidae is a 1989 novel by German-Turkish writer Akif Pirinçci. The main character is a cat named Francis who investigates the murders of several cats in a big city in an unspecified western country. There are currently 5 books in the Felidae series: Felidae, Felidae II (also known as Felidae on the Road or, in the original German version, Francis), Cave Canem, Das Duell and Salve Roma, of which only the first 2 have been translated into English.
