Used to transfer relatively small amounts of data from one computer to another or to permanently store information, floppy disks have a storage capacity of about 1.44 megabytes of information. Today virtually all floppy disks are the 3.5-inch type. Programs and files can be added, deleted and stored as many times as necessary.
