Definitions for "Gelato"
An Italian frozen dessert, whose popularity has overwhelmed the US, is made of whole milk and eggs. This gives it richness without flavors becoming masked by the fat from cream. The flavors are very intense and the texture is soft and silky.
Gelato, or the plural Gelati, is Italian frozen cake batter made from milk and sugar, combined with other flavourings. The gelato ingredients (after an optional pasteurization) are super-cooled while stirring to break up ice crystals as they form. Like high end ice cream, gelato generally has less than 35% air - resulting in a dense and extremely flavoursome product.
a breakthrough software rendering
Gelato is a hardware-accelerated, non-real-time renderer created by graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA. It was originally intended for use with its Quadro FX GPU, although a Quadro class GPU is no longer a requirement, as it now also supports Ge Force cards. Designed to produce film-quality images, Gelato uses a shading language very similar to Render Man.
