Definitions for "Gimme"
Keywords:  putt, conceded, golf, opponent, you'll
A short putt very close to the hole that your playing partners award you. You don't have to putt your ball. You'll hear, " That's a gimme!" during a casual and friendly round, but it is not within the rules of golf. Good on the "next" shot not the last.
(aka: "gimmie") a putt that is short enough in length to be certain to be holed with the next stroke. Example: "Great putt Abby! That next one (the putt) is a gimme".
A short putt that is conceded by your playing partners. Using the "gimme" speeds the pace of play. Don't assume your playing partners will use the "gimme". If they don't you could incur a 2 stroke penalty, have to replace your ball and putt anyway.
Gimme was the Cypriot entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, performed in English (the first occasion that the Cypriot entry had not featured Greek lyrics and the first time that English lyrics had been performed) by One. The song was performed first on the night (followed by the United Kingdom's Jessica Garlick with Come Back). At the close of voting, it had received 85 points, placing 6th in a field of 24.
