The term used to describe God's rule over the world through his power and the exercise of it. The term does not usually refer to a time or place in history. Frequently in the gospels the use of the term suggests that the kingdom is external and in the future, although "close at hand." Jesus (in Matthew 4:17) spoke of the kingdom as being "in your midst."
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on earth; also the celestial kingdom.
Kingdom of Heaven, Kingdom· The final and everlasting earthly Kingdom, which will be ruled by Christ and His followers.
God's rule, expressed through mighty deeds. Precisely how the kingdom works itself out in history (or at the eschaton) changes with different authors and contexts.
The new kingdom to be ruled over by God.
The Biblical expression of God's dynamic rule of the universe, the values and qualities of which were most clearly manifested in the sayings and deeds of Jesus.
the domain over which God is spiritually sovereign
God's rule over the world, showing (1) His absolute sovereignty as Creator and (2) His sovereignty over the faithful who voluntarily submit to Him. The Kingdom of God was made manifest by Christ and is present in the world through the Church. The fullness of the Kingdom will come when Christ returns to judge the living and the dead, creating a new heaven and earth. See Mark 1:15; John 3:3 5; Rom. 8:20, 21; 1 Cor. 6:9, 10; Rev. 21:1—22:5.
the spiritual reign of God, where God is recognised as King. The term "Kingdom of God", or "Kingdom of Heaven", refers to God's rule of grace where evil is overcome. Those who live in this kingdom know righteousness, happiness, peace and joy (c.f. Romans 14:7).
God's righteous reign in the earth, mediated by His Son, Jesus Christ. The kingdom of God begins in the hearts of redeemed men (Col. 1:13) and moves outward wherever men are subject to Christ's gospel and law. The kingdom of God is not preeminently political, though it has implications for politics. Wherever Christ's gospel breaks the stony heart of sinful man, bringing him to his knees in submission to Jesus Christ, there is the kingdom of God. As more and more men are converted and reorient their lives to the Bible, the kingdom of God extends throughout the earth in all spheres (vocation, technology, education, economics, science, the arts, and so forth).
a political situation characterized by universal peace and respect between all human persons, with the 'moral law' being followed so consistently that external legal forms are no longer needed. Bringing this (or its moral equivalent, the kingdom of ends) about is the final goal of the ethical commonwealth, but will probably require assistance from God in order to become a reality in the distant evolution of the human race.
The final and climactic reign of God, ushered in by the Incarnation, growing in the church, which is the “seed†of the Kingdom (CCC 567), and to be fully realized at the Parousia. The Kingdom is communion with the triune God, entered through Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
