Small grouping or parade of shops, usually comprising a newsagent, grocery store, post office etc.
For the purposes of this Plan a local centre has been taken to be a shopping centre, usually of 10 units or greater, serving a local retail function. The local centres are listed in Table 9.1.
A small group of shops and perhaps limited service outlets of a local nature (for example, a suburban housing estate) serving a small catchment. Sometimes also referred to as a local neighbourhood centre.
A centre offering convenience shopping facilities which is important to people who live within walking distance.
