Modular Weapon System, refers to a weapon equipped with a quick attachment system, such as RIS/RAS
Major Weapons System i.e. an F15, C17, etc. MWS is now MDS (Mission Design Series) so that it can generically be applied to any aircraft (not just weapon systems)
Multimedia Wireless System. Wireless terrestrial point-to-multipoint systems, or multipoint-to-multipoint systems, that enable distribution of multimedia services.
Marine Weather Statement. Issued to advise the public and marine community of minor coastal marine problems such as: Heavy surf, beach erosion, rip currents, and winds less than 35 knots. These statements can also be issued to provide additional information when a marine warning or advisory is in effect.
