The name assigned to a node during network definition. The format for the node name is NETID.CPNAME.
A character string that uniquely identifies each system in a network or internetwork. Each node name in a network or internetwork must be unique; however, a single node can be identified by more than one node name.
The "NS node name" is used by NS/Net/IPC and defined through NMMGR on MPE/iX or through SAM on HP-UX. NS uses probe, probe-proxy and the network-directory to resolve NS name-to-IP-address. Note that the NETUtil prompts "Server Node Name" and "Client Node Name" do not imply "NS node name."
