Definitions for "Punch biopsy"
Procedure in which 2-8 mm of tissue is removed for pathologic study. A biopsy punch is drilled into the skin with a back and forth cutting motion.
A sample of skin obtained with an instrument that takes a cylindrical core sample of the skin layers and part of the fat layer.
Very small specimen of tissue taken with special biopsy forceps which allows microscopic examination by a pathologist
