The student will observe the notation of "Quality Point" on the transcript. It is from these quality points that the GPA is calculated. Quality points are calculated by multiplying the credit hours of the course by the points earned by the grade received: A = 4; B = 3; C = 2; D = 1; and F = 0 points.
The numerical values assigned to letter grades. For example, a grade of C+ is worth 2.3 quality points per semester hour. A 3-hour course in which a student earns a C+ produces 6.9 quality points, or 3 hours X 2.3 = 6.9 quality points.
HLRSC members earn two quality points for each Best of Breed and Best In Show and one quality point for each Best Opposite Sex and Best Reserve (also Best 4 Class, when available) won in sanctioned shows.
the numeric value of your letter grade (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.) multiplied by the number of hours for the course yields a value for calculating your GPA. An “A” for a 3-credit course would net 12 quality points.
The number of points determined by the grade assigned. For example: An A equals 4 quality points a B grade equals 3.
The points earned for a course as calculated by multiplying the number assigned to a grade (A = 4; B = 3; C = 2; D = 1; F = 0) by the hours assigned to the course. The cumulative number of quality points earned divided by quality hours earned determines the Grade Point Average.
The value, ranging from 4 to 0, for grades from A to F for all courses completed, used in determining a grade point average. (Also see GPA.)
Points given for attainment of a certain letter grade. (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, WF=0, F=0).
Used to calculate a student's GPA. The grade of “A” is worth 4 quality points, a “B”= 3 points, a “C”= 2 points, a “D”= 1 points, and an “F” or “WF”= 0 points. A “W” does not factor into GPA.
