An alloy of more than 90% silver used to join metal at temperatures over 1300*F. This is a confusing term because there is a soft solder that contains a small amount of silver and is also called silver solder. To make matters more confusing, there is one particular alloy of silver solder called hard solder. Other popular grades of silver solder are known as easy and medium. These types of solder are used in jewelry applicaitions and are available in gold and platinum versions as well.
