This is a finishing light cold rolling reduction applied to cold-reduced and annealed low-carbon steel sheet to achieve one or more of the following: suppression of the yield point, increase in strength and hardness, improvement in flatness, attainment of a specific finish. In the case of metallic-coated steel sheet it may also be for the elimination and correction of flaws in the coating.
This is a skin-rolling of steel sheet or strip when cold, to impart a required degree of stiffness, hardness or surface condition. It should not be confused with cold rolling which implies cold reduction on terms of thickness.
Light cold rolling of sheet steel. The operation is performed to improve flatness, to minimize the formation of strain marks, and to obtain a specified hardness or temper.
A light cold reduction of the sheet steel. This operation is performed to improve flatness, eliminate discontinuous yielding and to obtain a uniform surface.
A light pass given to annealed cold rolled strip to prevent the formation of kinks and stretcher strain markings on subsequent cold working. Also termed Pinch pass and Skin pass.
Subjecting metal sheet or strip to a slight amount of cold rolling following annealing to forestall stretcher strains. Also termed "pinch pass" or skin rolled.
