Aquitaine (Occitan: Aquitània; Basque: Akitania) (anciently "Guyenne", in Occitan: Guiana) is one of the 26 regions of France, in the in south-western part of metropolitan France, along the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees mountain range on the border with Spain.
