Bill Lee (born July 23 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia) born in Snow Hill, Alabama is an American musician. He has played the bass for many artists including Aretha Franklin, Odetta, and Bob Dylan. He is the father of Spike Lee and Joie Lee, and has composed original music for many of Spike Lee's films, including She's Gotta Have It, School Daze, Do the Right Thing and Mo' Better Blues.
William Crutcher Lee (October 21, 1909 - June 15 1977) was a Major League Baseball player from 1934 to 1947 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and Boston Braves. Lee was mainly a pitcher and had his best year in 1938 when he helped lead the Cubs to the World Series with a record of 22-9 and 2.66 ERA. His career marks were 169 wins, 157 loses and a 3.54 ERA.
