Anthony (Tony) David Hawthorn Smith (born 13 March 1967) is an Australian politician who has been a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives since November 2001, representing the Division of Casey, Victoria. He was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and was educated at the University of Melbourne. Tony was president of the Melbourne University Liberal Club and is an honorary life member of this club.

The Australian was appointed by the Rhinos in a surprise move in 2003 as the club decided to move incumbent Daryl Powell into an upstairs role for two years from the start of the 2004 season. Smith, who had impressed as coach of Huddersfield Giants, leading that club back into Super League, guided the Rhinos to Grand Final success in 2004.
Tony Smith, a former Great Britain international, is the former coach of Super League club Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He was appointed in August 2005 after a successful spell as caretaker coach following the sacking of Australian Shane Mc Nally. However, with the Wildcats facing relegation, Smith was sacked in July 2006 and replaced a few days later by John Kear.
