Definitions for "Blood glucose level"
The amount of glucose in a given amount of blood. It is noted in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or millimoles per liter (mmol/L).
The amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood stream.
The concentration of glucose (“blood sugar”) in the bloodstream. Blood glucose levels are usually determined after an overnight fast, but can also be determined randomly or at set times before or after the ingestion of food. A fasting plasma glucose level of less than 110 mg/dL is considered normal. Elevated levels of blood glucose may be indicative of diabetes mellitus.
