Definitions for "Charcot Joint"
A type of diseased joint associated with varied conditions; syringomyelia among them, which involves disease or injury to the spinal cord. It is characterized by hypermobility. Decalcification of bone on joint surfaces occurs accompanied by overgrowth of bone. This results in deformity and instability of the joint. Pain is uncharacteristic, but may occur.
