Definitions for "Cross-appeal"
An appeal filed by the appellee, which usually is heard at the same time as the appellant's appeal. A cross-appeal usually requests the Supreme Court to correct an alleged mistake made by the court below and seeks a remedy that is different from the remedy requested by the appellant.
