After having a vision, she decided to have Naoise as a husband, but he refused because he knew that Conchobar wanted Deirdre for wife. Deirdre put a spell on Naoise and he had to rapt her. Naoise was killed by Eogan. Conchobar gave Deirdre to Eogan. Deirdre let fall herself from the chariot which brought her out of Ulster and she died.
Deirdre or Derdriu is the foremost tragic heroine in Irish mythology. Her story is part of the Ulster Cycle.
