Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band which puts emphasis on the use of operatic elements and death grunts, also performing some song passages in Latin. It was founded by guitarist and vocalist Mark Jansen subsequent to his departure from After Forever.

Epica is the newest RAID storage array series (as of 2006) from Proware Technology Corporation. The Epica series is composed of 2U, 3U, and 4U enclosures consisting of 4Gb FC-FC, FC-SAS/SATA II, SAS-SAS/SATA II, and SCSI-SATA II interaces. The 4U 42-bay Ultra Hi-Density storage is considered the flagship of the Epica series.

The European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica (EPICA) is a multinational European project for deep ice core drilling in Antarctica. Its main objective is to obtain full documentation of the climatic and atmospheric record archived in Antarctic ice by drilling and analyzing two ice cores and comparing these with their Greenland counterparts (GRIP and GISP). Evaluation of these records will provide information about the natural climate variability and mechanisms of rapid climatic changes during the last glacial epoch.
