Stands for Independent Financial Advisor. These advisors should be able to offer you the full range of products from all of the financial product providers or from a panel of provider that they believe to be the best. Can be one man bands up to multi-national companies. IFAs should carry out fact finds on you in order to help them recommend the best courses of action for your finances.
Interactive Fund Accounting System. Internal financial accounting software system used by campus departments. Modules include accounts payable, accounts receivable, ad-hoc report writer, fixed assets, general ledger, purchasing, stores inventory.
Stands for Independent Financial Advisor. These advisors are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. To be classified as "independent" they have to be able to offer you the full range of products from all financial product providers. They are not entitled to describe themselves as "independent" if they can only offer products from a restricted panel of financial companies. A Financial Advisor can be one man band or work for very large companies. Before they make any recommendation, an IFA must carry out a detailed fact find so they fully understand your financial circumstances. They can then make their recommendations to suit your personal circumstances.
