Loafing or cherry picking in ice hockey is when a player, the loafer (usually a forward), literally loafs — spends time in idleness — or casually skates behind the opposing team's unsuspecting defencemen while they are in their attacking zone.
When a player does not lift or turn the ball properly. The ball lags and usually rolls off to the right for right-handed bowlers, and to the left for left-handed bowlers.
