Definitions for "Poncelet"
A unit of power, being the power obtained from an expenditure of one hundred kilogram-meters of energy per second. One poncelet equals g watts, when g is the value of the acceleration of gravity in centimeters.
The poncelet (p) is an obsolete unit of power, once used in France and replaced by cheval vapeur (cv, metric horsepower). The unit was named after Jean-Victor Poncelet.
Poncelet is the remains of a lunar crater that is located near the northern limb of the Moon. It lies to the east-northeast ot Pascal crater and northwest of Anaximenes crater. Like the later formation, Poncelet is a worn, eroded formation with an interior that has been flooded, either with lava or possibly ejecta.
