Joshua, the leader of the Jewish people after Moses

(ye-ho-SHOO-ah) n. Joshua: Book of the Nevi'im in the Tanakh. The name Yehoshua means “the Lord saves.” Note that Joshua, not Moses, led the children into the land of promise.
