Definitions for "Carrier System"
A method for providing several communications channels over a single path. Accomplished by modulating the data, voice or video transmissions onto a higher frequency carrier wave, then recovering it at the receiving end through a process of demodulation (See Frequency Division Multiplexing.)
A means of obtaining a number of communication channels over a single path by modulating each channel upon a different carrier frequency and demodulating at the receiver to restore the signals to their original form.
A means of conveying a number of channels over a single path by modulating each channel on a different carrier frequency and demodulating at the receiving point to restore the signals to their original form.
