A rating, usually of performance, on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is best, 10 is worst, and each number corresponds to an increment of 10 percentage points.

Performance of a mutual fund over time on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being in the top 10 percentile, 2 being in the top 20 percentile, and so on.

Decile rank refers to performance over time rated on a scale of 1-10. A ranking of 1 indicates that whatever is being ranked - usually a mutual fund - is in the top 10% of the sample; a decile of 2 indicates it's in the top 20%; a decile of 3 indicates it's in the top 30%; and so on.
