Lazarus is the name of two separate characters in the New Testament. The more famous one is the subject of the miracle recounted in John 11:41–44, in which Jesus raises him from the dead. The other one appears only in Jesus' parable of Lazarus and Dives recorded in Luke 16:19–31.
Lazarus is a RAD Object Pascal Development IDE for use with Free Pascal. It is the open source equivalent of the Delphi VCL, designed to be widget-independent and to work on any platform where Free Pascal can be found.
The Lazarus IDE is a stable and feature rich visual programming environment for the FreePascal Compiler. It supports the creation of self-standing graphical and console applications and runs on Linux , FreeBSD, MacOSX and Windows.
