The Borough of Aberconwy was one of five districts of Gwynedd, North Wales from 1974 to 1996.

Aberconwy will be a constituency to be represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by first past the post voting. The seat will not be fought until the election expected in 2009 or 2010.

Aberconwy will be a constituency of the National Assembly for Wales, created for the 2007 Assembly election. It will elect one Assembly Member by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it wil be one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
