Definitions for "ABX"
An ABX test is a testing protocol, generally used for testing audio codecs. It is a double blind test, which means that the person doing the testing and the person presenting the test do not know which is which. This test is often performed with software which randomly presents one of two tracks (say a .wav file and a 128k mp3 file) and the listener has to decide which is better. Blind testing removes preconceived bias.
