those professions outwith doctors and nurses who work with patients in the healthcare team (Arts therapist, Dietitian, Occupational therapist, Orthoptist, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Prosthetist/ Orthotist, Radiographer, Speech and Language therapist).
The allied health professions are those clinical healthcare professions distinct from the medical and nursing professions. As the name implies, they are all allies in the healthcare team, working together to make the healthcare system function.
