Assistant or Associate University Librarian
Associate University Librarian. Each AUL is responsible for an area of PUL's operations: technical services, reference and collection development, special libraries, administrative services, and rare books and special collections.

An aul (derived from Tatar language awıl) is a type of fortified village found throughout the Caucasus mountains, especially in Dagestan. They are generally built out of stone on faces of ridges or against cliffs to guard against surprise attacks. Houses are usually two stories high, and they were staggered to make it virtually impossible for enemies to get anywhere on the roads.
Activity Use Limitation. Under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan, in cases when a chemical release cannot be cleaned to MCP standards (e.g., contaminated soil found under a building that cannot be removed), the responsible party may place an AUL on the contaminated area. This AUL is a deed restriction that prohibits unsafe usage of property by current or future owners.
