A tissue, hard and bone-like, that forms most of the tooth.
The tooth material directly under the enamel layer. It is somewhat softer than enamel and more yellow in colour. Diastema: A space or gap that occurs between two adjacent teeth.
Makes up the largest part of the tooth. Dentin is like bone and is almost as hard as enamel.
The inner hard tissue of the tooth, full of tubules with the cell processes of odontoblasts in them.
the layer of tooth with sensory innervations
osseus tissues of a tooth, enclosing the pulp cavity
bone-like material in body of tooth, lacks osteocytes.
the part of the tooth that surrounds the center of the tooth, and that is enveloped by enamel
Chief substance of teeth which surrounds tooth pulp and is covered by enamel on the crown and cementum on the root.
a calcareous material harder and denser than bone that comprises the bulk of a tooth
bone (calcified tissue) surrounding the pulp cavity of a tooth
Softer layer of tooth structure that lies beneath the enamel.
The part of the tooth directly under enamel. Dentin is much softer than enamel.
the bone-like tissue that comprises the principal mass of a tooth.
the middle part of the tooth surrounding the pulp and covered by enamel. Beige in color.
a mid part of tooth surrounding the pulp and covered by enamel
The tissue, which forms the main body of the tooth.
Makes up majority of the tooth, softer than enamel but harder than cementum, composed of tubules that help transmit sensation to the nerve.
the core of the tooth, covered by enamel
Bone-like substance found beneath the hard enamel of the tooth. It is softer than enamel
The tissue of the tooth underlying the cementum of the crown which makes up the bulk of the substance of the tooth.
The tissue of a tooth beneath the enamel and enclosing the pulp cavity.
Tissue that forms the main body of the tooth.
The part of the tooth that is under both the enamel which covers the crown and the cementum which covers the root.
This is the main tissue that forms the shape of the tooth. Dentin is the material which exists between the pulp and the enamel, and comprised of a series of dentinal tubules stacked on top of each other.
This is the tooth material directly under the enamel layer. It is somewhat softer than enamel and more yellow in color
The inner, seim-hard structure of a tooth between the enamel (or cementum) exteriorly and the pulp interiorly
The hard tissue under the enamel of the tooth structure covered by enamel and surrounded by a layer of cementum along the tooth.
The part of the tooth body which is located under the enamel (covering the crown, above the gumline) and the cementum (covering the root, under the gumline).
The second layer of a tooth that supports the enamel. It is a yellow bony material that contains some of the tooth's nerve fibers.
The layer of tooth structure under the enamel.
the bone-like tissue that supports the enamal and makes up most of the tooth structure.
The tooth layer lying between the inner pulp (containing the tooth's blood and nerve supply) and the overlying enamel.
Inner layer of tooth structure, immediately under the surface enamel
That part of the tooth that is beneath enamel and cementum.
The main tissues of a tooth surrounding the pulp cavity.
The middle layer of a tooth, which makes up most of the tooth's mass.
hard tissue under the enamel and cementum of the tooth.
Layer of tooth structure under the enamel. Exposed dentine is the main cause of tooth sensitivity.
The yellowish hard tissue layer that makes up the majority of the tooth located under the enamel and the cementum (the layer that protects the root).
middle layer of the tooth, below the enamel and surrounding the pulp
This substance makes up the teeth immediately beneath the layers of enamel and cementum. (See also Cementum and Enamel).
The calcium part of a tooth below the enamel containing the pulp chamber and root canals.
The main portion of the tooth structure covered by enamel and surrounded by a layer of cementum along the root. See "What are teeth made of?"
The substance which makes up most of a tooth
Dentin (BE: dentine) is the substance between enamel (substance in the crown) or cementum (substance in the root) of a tooth and the pulp chamber. Dentin is secreted by the odontoblasts of the dental pulp. The formation of dentin is known as dentinogenesis.
